Four Crows
There was a lot of snow falling on my way home from work.
The shine from the bright white snow made it almost impossible to see the road.
I couldn't find parking near my apartment building,
So I had to park on the other side of the parking lot.
The snow came down and it gave me terrible memories of the Chataqua snow,
But this time it was different.
I looked up and saw four crows on top of the tree on my way to my apartment.
The snow was falling,
But they were still.
Staring as if they were looking out for me.
Sometimes I wonder if these black birds were the souls of those who cared for me and passed away.
Just these misunderstood guardians that were there reminding me that life is different now.
In this walk,
I didn't want my life to end.
There is something deadly but lively about the snow falling and everything under it.
It's just how we look at it.
